A week ago, I decided to buy a new pot to prepare my daily ceremonial cacao. In my old life, I would have likely just hopped in my car and gone to IKEA. But, where could I find the right place to buy home appliances in Ubud?
Ace Hardware
My first thought was Ace Hardware – it’s my favorite store for serious shopping. You can find everything there – just like at IKEA:
- furniture
- mattresses and covers
- decorations
- cutlery
- kitchen equipment
- bathroom equipment
- CCTV and safety boxes
- tools
- lighting
- fans and vacuum cleaners
- even sports equipment (e.g. yoga mats)
- …and of course pans 😉
The issue is that ACE Hardware is 40 minutes away from Ubud, almost in Sanur, so it wasn’t worth it for me to go there just for a pan.

Massa’s Toserba
I decided to begin at a local shop in Ubud. There are a few stores at JL. Raya Teges. Of them, Massa’s Toserba seemed the most promising to me. The shop is around 18 minutes walk from the Yoga Barn.
This is a typical local shop. Products are not always of the highest quality, and I was surprised by the relatively high prices. When I inspected the cooking pan, it seemed overpriced. I didn’t do a thorough price comparison, so it’s best to go and check for yourself what works for what you’re looking for. They offer a wide range of small home items and basic electronics. I also purchased a Balinese calendar there.

Delta Dewata (⭐️ personal recommendation)
Finally, I had an idea: on the way home, I’d check the Delta Dewata Supermarket. Not only does Delta offer a great selection of food, but they also have some basic home appliances. Although the selection was limited, I found exactly what I needed. At Delta, you can find also:
- kitchen utensils,
- glasses,
- kitchenware,
- towels,
- candles,
- light bulbs
- extension cords,
- and more

Conclusion
If you’re looking for home appliances in Ubud, start at Delta. They have the most important items at reasonable prices. For larger purchases, Ace Hardware is the best option.
